From my own perspective: it's been the year that I walked away from "scale" stuff, and have fully embraced "Hi Rail" type models and PW Flyer S gauge.
I was fortunate enough to score (2) lovely Korean-built Lionel steamers (H10 and E6); a very nice Flyer #300 and 15B transformer; my first Fastrack and Gargraves track; and of course, the usual ton of misc. items, parts, etc.
Perhaps best of all, I've been able to spend many hours repairing, replacing, painting; all the interesting things I like to do in this terrific hobby; and in no small part due to the help I have received here.
