Three stooges decals

Very cool. Do you think they are still good? They look to be from the fifties.

The instruction sheet is dated 2013 and there are plenty of them available but I think I stole this one at 9 dollars

In my 50s and still good.  Ask my wife.  Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk. 

You might want to spray them with testors dull coat before using them or they may fragmentise.

I did a little research on the kit, it was made 2013.

ebay listing number would be helpful,  Three Stooges Decals does not bring them up

Search    Three Stooges 1940 sedan    and thirteen listings will come up. They come inside the model. Also, even though the instructions where printed in 2013 there are advertisements for 2015 models inside the box so this must have had a two year run. I waited till I found one with a lower starting price, as most listings are starting around 17 dollars.

Good to see there are still some Stooges fans!

I copied them and printed the decals off I think I will use a couple for signs on my layout.

I'm uncertain on the chronology of the 3 Stooges, but the ones I remember the best (and possibly like the best) are: Moe, Larry and Cury (the "soitenly" one).

I think there was a "Curly Joe" and "Shemp" also were part of the Stooges, but again, I don't know the chronological order. Weren't the originals as I mentioned above?

This AMT 1940's Ford Sedan Delivery Van kit featuring our 3 heroes is still available.

The kit number is AMT 791/12, retailing for $26.99 msrp.   Retail shops selling AMT models who are served by Great Planes Distributors will find that this model is 'In Stock' at both the Illinois and California distribution centers.  I didn't take the time to check, but I'd imagine the model is currently available from other distributors, too.

AMT, Revell, et al do not typically sell the decal sheets for their models as a separate item.  Ergo, I suspect that the Stooges decals are being offered on internet auction simply because the model builder chose to decorate this 1940's Ford Sedan Delivery Van...a beautiful 1/25 model in its own way...in some other way, and sought to recover some value for the unused decals.    Bingo!....

So, playing this idea in reverse, if you want the decals, you could buy the entire kit (I'm sure it can be had for a 'street price' better than msrp!), and then offer the Ford Van kit on da bay....being sure to note the absence of the decals, of course!...and recover some of your investment.   Or, have fun and build the kit as a plain-Jane and sell it to a G scale guy/gal!!  Although not a good model for an outdoor G scale layout, it'd make a dandy photo-op vehicle for that end of the hobby!!

Shemp replaced Curly late 40s after he had a stroak then Joe Besser replaced Shemp in the mid 50s after dieing of a heart attack. Curly Joe Derita was the final third stooge in the 1960s. Original Curly died 1952.

The Stooges actually started with Moe-Larry-Shemp, but Shemp went on to other acting and Curly took his place. Then Shemp came back years later after Curly's health failed. It's interesting to note that Moe-Curly-Shemp are all brothers with Lithuanian Jewish heritage (if I remember correctly). As a kid I nearly died laughing watching the classic stooges.

I've thought that "Pop Goes the Weasel" could be a good theme for a vintage Lionel layout, with scenes representing different places shown during the episode.

The kit was issued in 2015 by AMT which is owned by Round2 LLC.  It is 1/25 scale kit. 

Stored right they should be good for another 25 years easy. 

Cedarleafcustommodels also sells some nice Three Stooges decals for O scale refrigerator cars.

I thought my wife was the only gal that liked the stooges. Don
