TMCC Crane (6-19899) LED issue

I would say it is most likely the LED. I have replaced a few with the same flickering effect.

 Careful when ordering, some cranes used a blue LED, some used white.

Thanks Chuck. What's the best way to remove the existing LED? The housing is attached to the crane body but I assume that the lens can be taken off. I have tried once but it was  pretty secure.

The housing and LED are one piece. I would look real close were the connector plugs in to the board. Look up your crane on Lionel web site to get the right one.

Thanks Bill, that explains a lot. I can't see any defect in the connection at the board but it's all too small to test without unplugging a lot of other connections and I may as well have the replacement unit on hand when I try doing that.
