Your O Gauge Waterfronts & Car Floats

Interesting topic. I have dabbled in rail-marine modeling in O scale.

I also made a few barges and a small freighter. I added those photos here on the forum years ago.

On my bucket list is the reformation of the layout in a simpler track plan.

I had found an Ebay site that sells a variety of model plans for boats and trains.  Looks like many plans are from about 50-60 years ago.  VINTAGE905 is the seller and they're from Canada.  My great lakes freighter plan came from them, only cost $20. Was 1:100 scale , I enlarged it to 1:50.

That's a great site! Some interesting models; maybe I can get my shipbuilding neighbor interested in one for me.

You should give it a try. I'm not an accomplished model builder or woodworker. This lake boat will be my largest model I have ever built. Most of my experience came from doing home improvement projects. I've built an Emperor grandfather's clock back 37 years ago and a few small Bartley furniture kits, but most everything else was rough carpentry.

After the lake boat I need to build a 2 track car float, about 5 feet long which will hold up to 10 forty foot cars. I will use it as a fiddle yard for extra storage.
