Ordering some silicone wire for repairs when needed for my fleet of PS2/3 engines. The wire at the motors is quite small and very flexible.This is the wire i was thinking off...22ga, too small? Color variety? Recommendations?

I have never heard that the insulation material affects the ampacity. Can you provide a link to a discussion on this subject?

I have always been taught (assuming a non-RF application...from, say, DC to 60 Hz, at least) that the number of strands is irrelevant as long as the gauge is constant.

Could you please explain this assertion? Any links to science that will bear this out? Thank you.
