About the 300 Series Rotary ToolIdeal for rotary beginners and seasoned do-it-yourselfers alike, the Dremel 300 variable-speed rotary tool helps you complete a wide range of household, fine art, and repair projects. It cuts, drills, sands, polishes, and grinds, making it a must-have for home repair enthusiasts and hobbyists. Unlike traditional drills, grinders, or saws, the 300 easily fits into tight or narrow spaces. As a variable-speed tool, it can operate at any speed from 5,000 to 35,000 RPM, which makes it a cinch to match your desired speed to the job at hand. Plus, the click-and-set power switch provides precise speed selection, which ensures smooth, continuous performance. Weighing in at only 18 ounces, the 300 is easy to handle and comfortable to hold; its compact design minimizes wrist and hand fatigue even after prolonged use. Finally, its six-foot cord offers plenty of reach, and on-board tool storage keeps your wrench close at hand.

About the Multi-Max The Multi-Max makes multitasking easier and more product than ever. A must-have for do-it-yourselfers and professionals, the Multi-Max oscillating tool helps you tackle a multitude of repair, remodeling, and restoration projects. Offering optimal control, safe operation, and high precision (with minimal dust production to keep your line of vision and workspace clear), it’s ideal for cutting, sanding, scraping, grinding, and more. With a lightweight and compact design, the Multi-Max is a delight to handle and hold for long periods of time while doing intricate work. Narrow spaces and tight spots are no match for the Multi-Max, which can get into areas that conventional saws and sanders cannot reach. Ideal for woodworking projects, it cuts, edges, shapes, and does detail work regardless of whether you’d working on vintage frames, dollhouse furniture, or kitchen cabinetry. Remove sections of drywall, install hardwood flooring, and trim door jambs. This tool operates consistently, quietly, and reliably—simply plug it in, and you’re good to go.

About the Trio The Trio is capable of easily making quick and controlled cuts in a variety of materials—including wood, plastic, drywall, sheet metal, and wall tile—and the ergonomic design improves accuracy while increasing comfort. Its pivoting handle can be positioned straight up or at a 90-degree angle to allow you to easily work on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The Trio’s innovative 360-degree cutting bits allow you to start your cut anywhere and in any direction without repositioning—no more stopping and starting when navigating tricky areas. High-speed spiral cutting creates smoother edges that require less sanding, which translates into less work and more time. With operating speeds from 10,000 RPM to 20,000 RPM, the Trio allows you to set the correct speed for the job at hand for the utmost in control and precision.

About Dremel Founded in 1932 in Racine, Wisconsin, Dremel is the industry leader in rotary tools. The company owes its success to the inventive genius of its founder and namesake, Albert J. Dremel. In his lifetime, Mr. Dremel owned 55 patents on a wide range of products from electric erasers to a gas-powered rotary lawn mower. His most famous and important invention was a high-speed rotary tool dubbed the Dremel Moto-Tool. Compact, lightweight, and perfect for a wide range of jobs, the rotary tool was an immediate hit with hobbyists and eventually became accepted as one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century. Today, the Dremel name remains synonymous with utility, durability, and innovation.

Warranty Information

The 6300 Multi-Max oscillating tool and the 6800 Trio rotary tool are backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor, and the 300 series rotary tool is backed by a four-year warranty on parts and labor.

What's in the Box One Dremel CKDR-01 three-tool combo kit, including one 300 series variable speed rotary tool, one wrench, two 420 heavy-duty emery cut-off wheels, one 84922 silicon carbide grinding stone, one 8193 5/8-inch aluminum oxide grinding stone, two 414 small felt wheels, one 425 one-inch emery polishing disc, one 421 polishing compound, one 407 course 1/2-inch sanding drum, one 408 coarse 1/2-inch sander band, two 432 1/2-inch 120-grit sanding bands, one 445 1/2-inch 240-grit sanding band, one 401 mandrel, and one 402 mandrel; one 6300 Multi-Max oscillating tool, one MM450 wood and drywall saw blade, one MM610 flexible scraper, one MM11 hook-and-loop sanding pad, and one MM70W 60/120/240-grit sandpaper triangle; and one 6800 Trio rotary tool, one wrench, one TR561 multipurpose bit, one TR407 1/2-inch sanding mandrel, one TR432 1/2-inch 120-grit band, and one TR445 1/2-inch 240-grit band; and one soft carrying case.

I can see where all three of those tools would be useful in modeling.  The Trio would be great for cutting curved track structures....... the saw thingy (technical term) would be great for cutting of things ON the layout in tight spaces where the cut-off wheel of the rotary won't fit...... and of course the rotary tool is priceless!  I already have a cheapo version of the rotary Dremel tool with two speeds only so this one will be nice to have also!
