Right on schedule!!!    Wonder if any of the early-birds will be Daylight cab-forwards?

These weren't BTO, so it'll be interesting to see how well Lionel estimated the demand for these steamers.  By delivering multiple shipments in small numbers though, it will give the impression that these are in short supply vs. the real demand.  Only time will tell the real deal.

Well, for everyone who ordered the Daylight version of the cab forward, looks like the new shipping schedule shows an updated ETA of Nov 2014... just in time for Christmas.  I guess the factory painters needed a bit more time with the Daylight paint scheme!!!

Never fails... The end-of-year is shaping up to be very expensive.

I must admit that having been on the crew of THE Daylight (SP4449) for 39 years now, and I would LOVE to have been able to afford that "Daylight painted" cab forward. Why? Lionel chose the the road number of the very first first AC12! I would have had it IMMEDIATELY repainted to the the CORRECT black, with NO road name on the tender, as per Southern Pacific practices in the mid 1950s.

I'll never be able to afford this or the high dollar Big Boy. My daughters college education comes first.

Enjoy these beauties. Fortunately my LionMaster Cab Foward and Challenger will continue to serve me well.

(Really just came back to the thread to see how the entertainment from earlier today was progessing)

Kinda wish I had gotten the lionmaster when it was available.

HW, is the daylight version different than the others? There must be something different than just the road number, else you could repaint one of the others.
