This past Sunday afternoon, it was our pleasure to welcome Forum member Vern, his wife, and granddaughter to our layout. This is one of the best benefits of our Forum to get the opportunity to meet train friends from all over our country and beyond.

Sunday was just a beautiful summer day, so after the layout tour, we took Vern and his family out for a boat ride. We had a wonderful time with our guests and hope they did as well.

That is definitely a major advantage of this forum getting to meet and know other model railroaders.  I am amazed at how many people I have met through the forum that live fairly close to me.

From the looks on their faces I think we can conclude that they had a great time.  I am still waiting to see your pictures of your new B & O passenger train though.

I want to thank Brian, Liz, Marty and Dottie for opening up Two great Lay-outs to me, Pam and Cassie on very short notice!!!!

Our older son lives in Maine and when I learned that Martie's and Brian's lay-outs were in Mass and Maine I had hoped we could see them if we went up to visit him. I also have a cousin near Marty that I hadn't seen in 16 years; when I first started to plan the trip I called my cousin to find out she was in Origin earning her second Masters Degree and would not be back till early in August [she had also gone to Alaska and rode the Alaska RR - a great ride in a dome car, she said]. So I waited for a return call and finally gave up and made another call. She had one opening in her schedule which ended up as a good date for us and started to contact Marty and Brian. It was hard for me to make contacts between our road time, getting on the internet and the phone. Marty had no time to prepare for our visit getting home the night before our visit. Brian after our great boat ride had a church meeting [I loved Brian's house also]. They were both great hosts like others have noted on the forum. Our granddaughter Cassie [age 8] enjoyed the lay-outs and Rough [Marty's cat] and Brian's boat ride as well. When we were nearing home Cassie was asked what the high-light of the trip was and we received XXX and XXX and XXX and ...!

We also made time to go into Boston to see the Tea Party Ships Experience and drive past Paul Reever's house and Old North Church, hopefully we sparked an History interest [if in Boston the Tea Party Ships Experience is a must do]. Seeing our son after more than a year and cousin were also delights.

So I would like to "THANK AGAIN" the time that was made for us.

Thanks again!!!
