I got a new tank car kit from Burl Rice.
The kit is fantastic. The trucks and couplers alone, move this to state of the art. There will be a learning curve for me as I either buy RTR or scratch build my own stuff. I just started and found the kit to be an exciting build.
I'll try and take pictures as I go. It is an honor to finally get my hands on one of his kits. I missed out on the custom box cars a few years back.

unfortunately it is 1:29, a poor choice for something trying to be a scale model.
Here is a picture of the truck... I'm not sure why the springs look so crooked? The trucks are equalizing and maybe still crooked from me playing with them or maybe my camera? Roller bearings on the axles too. They look like real metal with rust in person. Kind of a grain to them.

It's like having a YouTube page with a piece of track tacked to a wooden deck representing a layout with a single Loco on it. Cant understand it.

...regarding #1 gauge track (45mm) used to represent US standard gauge...
even if this is an accurate model in 1:29 scale, there is no getting around the fact that this scale on #1 gauge track has the largest scale to gauge error (>9%) i know of. i don't have to see anything to do the math.
ironically 3/8" to the foot (1:32), an incredibly easy to use scale, when gauged to 45mm track, has an error less than ½% but is ignored by a good deal of the G gauge crowd. MTH correctly used this scale in its #1 scale offerings, however by that time, manufacturers such as USA trains and Aristo had gotten the Garden RR community sold on the idea of "ignore the scale, if it's bigger it must be better" philosophy.
i have no doubt Burl is going where the money is.

That's where the build pictures went.
I put a second coat of paint on her today and will wait a few days for it to cure.
Man, these decals are delicate. I ripped each one no matter how gentle I was with them.
That's a trade off I guess. They do follow the curves easily.
