I want to operate a new section of my layout as a separate power district (180w brick.)(Fastrack)can I just remove the jumper wire in one of the small sections leading to the new area or do all 3 rails have to be insulated?Nick

Only the center rail needs to be isolated.
Happy railroading,
Don
good question. How does on equalize the voltage across the gap?

As long as you're running fixed transformers of the same voltages, there is no need. We run four PH180 bricks on the club mainline and transitions are seamless between power districts.
Thanks John, how about a older Post War ZW? Just set all throttles to 18volts and I am good to go?
Yep, we were running on a pair of PW-ZW transformers before the bricks, worked the same way. They just have to be properly phased and close to the same voltage.
