Too bad I didn't recall the old vibrating football game with the felt football. We had had make a wider gap in that to keep the players from panicking every which way. Well, it was 1960.

Haha, my brother and I played with one of those, had the "kicker" with a spring-loaded leg, and everything, great fun.

My brother and I could never get those electric football guys to go the way we wanted. We gave it up for the hockey game you pulled and twisted the sticks to shoot the puck. We wore that thing out.
Now ow I know something about the loader. I have a barrel car and barrels, but no loader yet.

Lionel made the only vibrating toys I remember working fairly well.
Their live stock wasn't too healthy though. 1950s mad cow disease
Mark we loved the rod hockey so much we (pals) bought the arcade versions.

Sean: Does the re-make version come with the counter-weighted "bridge' that flops down between the loader and the car? The original 262 as built by Lionel had one to bridge that gap and allow the barrel to transfer to the car ramp without interruption. You can see the mounting holes at the end of the ramp.

Yes it does, its identical to the PW version. I just did not have it on while I was trying to get the loader to work. It also comes with the clip to bridge the gap on the loading end between the loader and the barrel car.
Glad it all worked out, looks like it shoots barrels now! I try to run mine at a voltage that just makes the barrels move up the ramp with a minimum of bouncing around. It's interesting that one takes so much lower a voltage to get the job done.

i never played the arcade version.
My brother and I played it a lot while we were in high school and then when I was commuting to college. He is 3 years younger than me. Finally, it was so worn, some of the players wouldn't work right. My dad boasted we didn't break it, we wore it out. I bought another after I was working full time, but we only got together a few times. I still have the new one in the box and taped shut. My brother was so much better than me. He won about 80percent of the time, and I have my suspicions he let me win most of the others. Now with arthritis, I would be pitiful at it.
