Excuse this strange question, but in what catalog did Lionel offer these new Milwaukee Road 18" cars you are talking about? Also, do they have the "skirts" that flip up to take the sharper curves, or are they done correctly?
I ordered both the 4 car and 2 car packs from Charles Ro back in February 2011 and finally received the 2 car pack from Charles Ro this August. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for them to ship to me the 4 car pack.
Based on your message, I emailed Charles Ro's Customer Service and just got the following response back from them, "Still on backorder due in November", which is a bit strange particularly if you have already received your 4 car pack from Charles Ro.
Our local train store only received 3 4-packs. ... The rest have not been shipped. ...
At the very least, I sure hope Lionel matched production quantities between the 2-pack and 4-pack. Wouldn't be the first time that they didn't, but it's odd if the 4-pack containing the observation would be the "under-produced" item. Add-on's are under-produced all the time, and it always makes for interesting pricing behaviors!
I believe 2012 catalog right after the Engines were released. It is Lionel Number 6-25622 and is not the K-Line by Lionel version
Just to be very clear here... we are talking about the newly produced Lionel 6-25622 four-pack and 6-25623 two-pack, first featured with the S-3 locomotive back in the 2010 Volume 2 catalog. It's ironic to go back to this catalog now and see the "All Items for 2011 Delivery" button splashed across the page!!! Best laid plans, I suppose.
These are NOT the K-Line by Lionel version.
You're hung up on 2012 for some reason ... but these were first catalog'd in Lionel's 2010 Volume 2 with the S-3 locomotive, and then again in 2011 Signature (i.e., vol 1) on a half-page devoted to scale passenger cars. Never in a 2012 catalog that I'm aware.
In any event, it's been a VERY long wait... and hopefully Lionel didn't under-produce them for all the MR fans who loved the S-3 and want a great passenger train.
