I tend to use the Christmas related scents that I have enjoyed for many years. Part of our layout remains seasonal year round, so for us it makes "sense".

In another post we talked about a White Castle aroma to add "character" to your building.  The smell of onions filling your train room.

I should probably buy a gallon of Nada, as I use it to water down my scented fluids.  I gave away my diesel and coal fired bottles, I couldn't take them.  My favorites include smoke pellet, forrest stream, spring, cranberry woods, and cinnamon roll.

IMHO, they nailed the hot chocolate scent.  If you like the smell of hot chocolate, you will not be disappointed.

 

I go through half a big bottle of it every year running my scale Polar Express, and even non-train people immediately recognize this scent as being hot chocolate, and they often ask where they can get it.

If you're single Hot Chocolate is the way to go. Chocolate is an aphrodisiac and it doesn't smell bad. I've been using it almost exclusively for about five years.

My recent favorite is Candy Cane Express and Cinnamon Roll.

 

 

I Run Christmas Pine for that layout, Sawmill for same, Coal Fired Steamer is strong but accurate.

I need some Eliminator and NADA for in the house, the wife hates the smells except the Christmas one.

I also run MTH fluid at times. I always seem to have a bottle of that from somewhere.

I think Mega Steam still sells the Christmas sample pack. 6 small bottles.

I use the Grandpas pipe smoke in a couple steamers.  That scent is perfect, to me.  It always reminds me of being at my grandfathers house.  The pipe scent and coal fired steam are my hands down favorites.  Coffee is a good one as well.

 

I agree with Andy that they nailed the hot chocolate scent.  It is always in my Polar Express 1225.

The only scent I use is JT's NADA - love it.

I use "NADA" most of the time and some favors like vanilla,cinnamon roll,pumpkin pie and "ELIMINATOR" to clean out any stale smells or to break in a new or used smoke unit. I also use NADA to tone down some scents. 

THE COAL SCENT CAN DRIVE OUT OF THIS HOBBY, WE HAD A CLUB MEMBER USE THAT AT AN OPERATING SESSION AND BANNED IT..

JUST CANT FATHOM PUTTING THE BACON AND CANDY CANE SCENTS INTO A STEAM ENGINE. ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY WERE FOR THE SMOKING CABEESE

I also like Root Beer --    try it !!!!

The bacon scent is more geared for a smoking diner which would make more sense. I use the candy cane at Christmas and hot chocolate.
