Heres pics of all 6 hoppers I picked up today from Massillon Menards. I've seen worse, however, all 12 of my UP's are straight, northern Pacifics look good,as do the NYC's I own. So what happened to this run of hoppers. Should I return, or is this as good as it gets? Anyone else have issues?

So Scott.......What is protocol for the return? Are you taking your car back to the store and they will have another waiting for you? I am hoping not to have shipping costs involved.
I went to Menards website and used the contact Menards which then asks you to log in or create a log in. There is a message shell that comes up to write to them. They replied less than 24 hours later with an email and a return authorizarion Fedex lable. I am not sure if they will send the replacement to me or my store though.
The 8530 & 8539 cars look pretty crooked, but the others don't look too bad to me. However, I am not as particular on some things as some folks are. But the 8530 & 8539 I might return. I am sure Menards will make it right what ever you want to do so you are happy though.
Wow... Those numbers are waaaay too crooked and NEVER even should've got past any QC person and into the package. I'd love to see if these decals are applied by hand or machine. The return shipping costs have got to cost Menards an arm and a leg if the whole production run is like that. I'm holding off on buying them right now.
One thing you can count on is Menards making things right and responding to the customer quickly. Hopefully there are not large percentages of these cars misprinted.
Looks like a lot of future "mystery box" inventory!
I know what happened.. They were working on Menards New Brewery and had a few too many... Don't drink and put on road numbers.. LOL..
I bought two of Morton salt hoppers numbers 8850 and 51 they were both fine. Hopefully not to many out there.

Both Scott's and Jini5's begin with 85 while Franks begin with 88. Maybe the applicator of 8500-? was having a bad day while the the other applicators were up to snuff so to say. Either way QC should have caught the problem.
