I think I already know the answer but let's see.  I like this transformer and have used it for years.  I no longer use the walk around controllers having switched exclusively to TMCC.  Right now in order to deliver 18 volts I have to have the controller plugged in and dialed up.  Is there a way to "fool" the transformer into believing the controller is in and dialed up without having to have the controller hooked up?  Essentially I want this to become the equivalent of a brick.

Moonman, I don't think those applications work at a set voltage, they do work when used as designed for conventional locos but it needs to be re established each time you turn it on.  The breaker seems to trip rapidly however there is no light on the unit to tell you what happened.  The hand held has a small light that flashes.  To reset mine I have to turn it off and on again.  I already have an in line fast acting breaker as a precaution.
