Hi everybody,
I have recently acquired a MTH operating gas station (Sinclair Model). Everything works fine, except it does not have the die-cast car. Does anybody know how I can get a replacement car or has anybody rigged up a fix with a general car that did not come with the MTH Station? Please let me know, and thanks in advance

MTH actually sells diecast autos. They're an accessory item, featured in their annual Ready-To-Run catalog. I'm looking at the 2015 catalog...the cars are shown on page 40, item 30-50066. I'm sure they used one of this type, or similar from the same supplier, for their animated accessories.
That said, I know you'd be less than thrilled to have to buy the whole MTH set of 32 cars at $229.95 to get one for your station!! However, MTH dealers (like us) sell them individually...that'll be the easy part. Do the math....they're not expensive individually at all.
Then you're going to have to find/make a 'shoe' to attach to the bottom of the car that will engage the floor mechanism. That's where Midge (MTH-Parts) may be able to help....worth a call, anyway.
I don't happen to have the accessory handy to give you any further info. But, knowing how helpful the forumites are, I'm sure more data is forthcoming.

The Sinclair station originally came with a red 1/43 Ertl '57 Chevy Bel Air. The only difference in the car for the gas station was a plastic insert with a slot on the chassis for the moving mechanism.

Speaking from experience, MTH does not stock either piece. I know because I tried MTH and what I would say most Dealers in the US. I had to fabricate my own.
I want to thank everybody who replied to my inquiry on this post, I called MTH Service/Parts and did speak to Midge, she was able to sell me a replacement car and the part that connects them to the gas station, so I am back in business! Thanks again everybody!
Has anyone experienced a faulty floor mechanism whereby the car hangs up mid way out of the garage and fails to complete it's rotation
Resurrecting an old topic but I too bought a RailKing gas Station (the Citgo version). It works perfectly but has no car. Does anyone know where I can buy a car or more importantly the shoe piece that goes on the underside of the car as shown in a prior post?
A clever alternative for the plastic "slot" ...
A few years ago, I had the same problem, but with the MTH Mel's Diner. I had MANY O-scale 1950s autos on hand, but none had the necessary plastic "slot" piece on the chassis/frame. A hobbyist suggested an adaptive and easy fix. The plastic make-some-at-home POPSICLE "kit" includes eight molds for the popsicle and accompanying caps, which hold the sticks in place while it's in the freezer. Cut away and trim a cap and its "slot" will fit the tab on MTH action accessories: Gas Station, Car Wash, Fire Station, and Mel's Diner. Just glue it in place. I placed a "cap" on the underframe of a 1959 Chevy convertible.

I made my own from sheet styrene years ago. Not too difficult. That said, I'll bet some enterprising person may already have a 3D printable file for said piece.

I would love to find a few. Looking for popsicle mold tops right now but haven’t found exactly what I need yet.
You can make that slotted piece attached to any car you would like to use:
What you will need some UV Plastic welder material like Bondic to make the piece right on the car.
A Popsicle stick. That is the size of the slot
Cut the rounded end off of the Popsicle stick to make it square. Coat the end of the stick with oil so the UV material will not bond to the stick. Wipe off any excess oil. Clean the area on the car with rubbing alcohol. Hold the stick on the location on the bottom of the car. Build up the UV material in layers then remove the stick and sand the top edge flat.
