There was too much background in the first photo.
As an aside, I feel a great affinity with you.Many years ago, as a CAP Cadet Officer, I had the excellent good fortune to attend two CAP-sponsored flying schools to get my FAA Glider and Single Engine Land ratings. I always wanted to be a military pilot, but physical limitations kept me from that and in CAP I at least got close. Here is one of my favorite pictures, in which I am piloting a C-130 on a UN relief mission in Liberia. The mercenary command pilot very kindly allowed me to fly the airplane back to Roberts Field in Monrovia after the food drop.

Brian. Thanks. I really hated missing your last train get together at your home. Jan and I really enjoyed our visit, your layout and your excellent hospitality two years ago (or is it 3 now?). Hopefully we can make a future one.
Southwest Hiawatha, I worked for the Navy supporting Marine programs before I retired from civil service. However, my active duty time was in the Air Force flying various models of the C-130. I have nearly 5,000 hours in that great airplane.
