Thanks.

How about the high gloss finish.  I'm sorta "uneasy" with appreciating it.

Not knocking it. Scott brings us really nice stuff at prices we are willing to pay.  And I'm thankful for that.   But, most other GGD and Sunset passenger cars have a satin finish.  The only shiney ones I have are the brass Sunset Harriman 70 ft cars from a while back.

Several of you have high end cars which have a more gloss finish.  Help me here, please.  How do you deal with mixing them?  Maybe like these just came out of the shop and the satin ones have been on the road for a while and have faded.

Santiagop23. Yes I have the UP E7 AB and an extra B unit from the early releases

I'm just now  putting Kadees on the cars while watching NFL Wild Card football. Maybe I'll try a video soon.  Or at least pictures of the rest of the cars.

BTW Scott, did a nice job with putting Kadee pads/steel pedestals on the cars.  Pre-drilled and threaded holes and even supplied the 3mm screws.  He didn't have to do that but did!

Nothing to drill.  Nothing to tap.  No need to build up a coupler pad.  All I have to do is add two Micromark shims and the couplers are at NMRA standard height.  Simple as falling off the back of a turnip truck.  Who says we don't have RTR in O scale (almost).

Austin Bill,

You're a 'bad influence' as my mom used to say!  After seeing these photos, I had to order one of the remaining ToT UP yellow in stock!  Quit twisting my arm, Uncle, Uncle....

How can you not love this observation car?  It's simply stunning.

I'm looking forward to adding that nice 3rd Rail diesel locomotive to my all UP steam roster.  I've broken my 'cardinal rule' of no diesels...hope I can close the flood gates now!

Enjoyed all the information you posted about the ToT.  Good stuff

86TA355SR.  Ha, ha.  Love it.   Hope you enjoy the set as much as I am enjoying it.

Thanks for the kind words. I've enjoyed this topic and it's companion topic with the video.  And have had fun doing the modest amount of research involved.

If you haven't already, check out the T of T article in the new Classic Trains special issue on the Trains of the 1940's.  Has it in the original blue livery before UP bought the complete train set.
