Hello I recently purchased a Williams Classic Reproduction Series Western Pacific F3 AA. I am going to install an extra Proto 1 board that currently has a 1996 chip with a dash 8/9 sound set. In looking at MTH website I found 30-2008-1 Western Pacific F3 unit with Passenger effects. This was sold in 1997. Does any one know a source for these sound chips?

Any authorized service center can order the chip, the last I heard they were still available. Retail price is $30, if you want one LMK. Luke

Order them directly from MTH. Call them up and tell them you need a sound chip for the 30-2008-1 and they will send you one, for the $30+$10 shipping. My authorized service center told me that the chip was no longer available or made and therefore my only option to fix my locomotive was to install a PS-2 upgrade kit, so I called MTH directly and got one shipped to me.
If you order one through a authorized repair center and are patient enough to wait until they're doing an order, you may not have to pay the single item shipping.
