Renee Grosser's Buildings

I just read it- nice write up.  I was hoping for more insider secrets on how the buildings were build & what material. I am always looking to improve my technique. Glenn featured me in the October/November run, and my building of one of our local factories.

Wonderful article on Renee's buildings, she is a truly remarkable builder / artist. 

 

I am really impressed with the quality of the magazine that Glenn and Dan are putting out six times per year.  I'm particularly impressed that they managed to feature not one, but two layouts.  Great photography also.

named after my eye Doctor who was very helpful in

helping out with my detached retina.. Great guy!

Ray, I'd just like to say 'Hi!' to Renee & you, from England, UK. I love both your layouts in HO & O, & have kept the MR articles about them. As a Soo Line fan of about 5,000 miles away seeing your models just adds to the pleasure!! Will you ever be tempted to do a Red & White Soo loco? I have trouble sometimes convincing railfans here that such a sharp livery dates from the early 1960's...!!

I just read the article about you, Rogers. Congratulations. Great article and structure.

No, there is no chance of me doing a grey and red scheme--I grew up in the 40s & 50s and my dad was a brakeman with the Soo. The original gold and maroon are actually the Minnesota state colors, the red and grey holds nothing for me at all.

great article and ray and renee are great hosts; their layout (both indoor and outdoor) is super.

I love her structures!!

Thanks for your reply Ray, I understand as the British Rail locos & liveries I grew up with in the '70s are still my favourite UK stuff, & liveries & Classes that have followed don't have the same appeal - except for the maroon & gold colours of EWS Railway, of course, when it was owned by Wisconsin Central (the "second" WC, of course) who also carried maroon & gold in a direct tribute to the original Soo livery
