On my permenent layout with both Legacy and DCS systems, my previosly responsive TMCC engines no longer resond to either system. They just sit on the track with their lights on with repetitive mild engine sounds.  However, these same engines run fine in traditional manual mode when placed on another layout. My legacy and MTH engines continue to run well on my permenent layout. What's the diagnosis and how do I fix this problem. Thanks guys.

You operated them with DCS before adding the Legacy. Program them to one system or the other. or at least, don't have them active in the DCS roster.

Why would having them in the DCS mess anything up? This has to be something else such as what Chris has offered.

When I finished my layout 2yrs ago, I installed legacy and dcs simultaneously. My now non-responding tmcc engines ran well up until recently and they were never entered into the dcs roster, only into the cab2. What's baffling is now I cant even reset them with new road i.d. numbers. When I hit the cab2 ''set'' button, there is no headlight change nor horn noise of acceptance. the run/program switch is in proper position. dcs also does not recognize them when I recently tried. This mystery affects all of my lionel tmcc engines. Again, if I place them on a separate layout, they are fine in conventional mode. I appreciate any sugeestions!

Interesting question. He mentioned TMCC locos and installing the Legacy Control System and DCS control, didn't see any mention of Legacy engines.
