I think it best for the purchaser to make that announcement. Joe did confirm that equipment was sold. Without validation from him or the buyer, the thread will most likely be killed. A few months ago, someone posted about Weaver closing, and that was shut down until Rich Melvin made an official announcement.

If the thread is shut down that is ok with me. I did not say this was fact, just something that I heard from a reliable source who will remain nameless. I do like Weaver products and hope they can be saved one way or another.

On the Notch6 podcast a couple of days ago, Howard Hitchcock was interviewed and it seemed Seems that Lionel is interested in the U.S. tooling. 

Unfortunately, the cars that I would like to see re-issued (primarily the troop car and the wagon-tops) I believe were made in China.

Is K-Line, also acquired by Lionel, still being produced in the forms it was before?  I

don't think so, and doubt that would be true with Weaver.  K-line's creativity and

individuality is still lamented, which is why the end of Weaver was not good news.  I

want my choices expanded, not constrained.

I also listen to the Notch 6 interview, with Howard Hitchcock. Lionel is looking into purchasing some of Weavers Tools but not the company's name.

It is not going to happen, the talks are going to break off, with no deal between Lionel & Weaver.
