After I posted this I stated a different topic and realized that you're right. It hasn't shipped. Someone on YouTube did a video and I thought it was the 611 legacy set. I think it must have been the 612.
I agree they should just ship the 611 now. Might be better off with the 612 and mth passenger cars lol.

Wholesale trains has the 612 discounted to 950 if you want one new.

I have a factory new MTH Premier PS2 N&W J Passenger Set with additional Passenger Cars that I would like to sell as a complete set. The locomotive is not 611, though. I believe that it's 604, but I'll verify it if you're interested.

Hi Nick, I have been waiting on Lionel to Get the Set on dealers shelves for a long Time.
I think it's do in December, as I just talked to my Dealer in Evansville, In.
I do have a set of the MTH Smooth Side Cars to go with this Engine. 9 Car Set.
Its an older set of cars that I bought from Ready to Roll Trains in Miami!!!

I decided to be patient and wait for Lionel to ship the 611 Pocahontas set. That's the one I really want, so why settle for something less right?? Lol. I just hope Lionel can ship the darn thing. I hear lots of issues producing the aluminum passenger cars.
My supplier told me yesterday, December 2014...So, Merry Christmas, and I hope we get it before New Years.....WOW. (It's Worth the Wait)

Yes, indeed... the Lionel shipping schedule (updated today 7/23) now lists the set as a Dec 2014 shipment. 
Yet another delay, but certainly not unexpected. Any bets on a 2015 arrival? 
Seriously, with the endless delays -- presumably associated with the aluminum passenger cars -- Lionel has had more than enough time to brush all the dust of those #611J steamers and literally put whistle-steam in them. Now wouldn't that be sweet? 
I guess we can always wish, but realistically it ain't gonna happen.
