Gantry or high rise "T" crane?
Let's see, bird, feathers, I have no idea.
I just lost my crane of thoughts
A crane car?
Something uplifting, a bra on a flatcar? Ok, I'll stop! LOL
maybe its a container crane I think its called a Mi-crane?

Well, that would fit with last weeks container tractor.
I like the guesses relating to cranes. A gantry crane or crane car would be a great to have.
Maybe, a barbeque wings stand or restaurant.
A GRAND DAVO crane?
A stork car......After the pitchfork clue I thought I would go off the limb for the guess......Paul
It could be a Keg crane for the future Brewery!
a Shell fuel tank....
Too bad it's not a stork; then it could be either a baby or a jar of pickles.
Florida East Coast crane car! Ha ha
A gantry crane would be awesome, but I'm guessing a crane car. Menards seems to be adding a bit of diversity to their rolling stock line up recently (container car, auto carrier) so a crane car would seem to be consistent with that. And tackindy, I would love to see a Florida East Coast one!
Sandhill cranes migrate via the Platte River valley...could be something from Union Pacific or Nebraska Central.
If Menard's makes a crane car I hope they make one of these to go with it.
And, if they make a Gantry crane, I hope they make one of these to go with it.
it is a crane car.
It being a crane is just too easy, I like Ranger Ricks idea, a sanding tower.
A Frasier Crane?
Mitch
Careful! We're having way too much fun on this thread! We're going to get yelled at! LOL
It must be a crane for lifting/stacking containers
Ok I was offline for a week of vacation...did this announcement get delayed?

Nope, no delay.
I wasn't very specific on the release date when I posted the teaser. I just said "this week's" release.
For those who are wondering ... today's the release day!

I like Craig's idea it's a set of Hogan's Heroes figures, right down to Colonel Klink and Sgt Schultz to go with all the military rolling menard's has put out.

Don't forget to add the Stalag 13 buildings to your order!
Here's a thought out there in left field. How about building that is water related like a fish market for you all that have sea sides or maybe a tugboat or place you sell the fish you got, all would have crains around them for sure.
Hm, I believe that this is the first time that I have gotten the e-mail from Menards before the announcement here. Nice new item and I am sure that many people will want to add it to their layouts.

Sure hope they don't sell out! Cant get one right now, but man I sure do want to get one down the road! SWEET! Great job Mark!
WOW, I like!!! Another home run!!
Ken
SWEET !!!! Looks some major construction is about to start.. If I could just crane my mind to do it right....
Raising the roof!!! That's a gem.
Very nice and well detailed as far as I can see. Now that Menards has a construction crane there's no reason not to start construction on the BREWERY!!!!!
I agree Nick!
What a great idea. I'm sure it will find a place on many layouts with such a minimal footprint. Who gets the fun job of suggesting/having final say over what types of structures and rolling stock will be produced? The intuition seems to be very successful over there...
I have one and it is a nice piece for the money, Menards has a good price on it also. BTW I was half right.
"T" crane it is! Nice! No idea how I will use one but it is going to be ordered right a away!
Ordered!

Menards was nice enough to include in the description of the Handler, however, in Cabinet Bob's review he offered another technique we can ponder with our 'cranium'

Looks like a major job is now being planed..when the mayor of Menardsville gives the OK, work will begin. My three sons will be on top, I'll be safe on the ground giving hand signals......not saying what they are.. LOL..

Thank you very much
Ken M
With a footprint of less than four inches this crane should fit nicely on anyone's layout. Once again Mark and the Menards team has come through with another unique and affordable addition to the hobby.
Maybe the crane is a prelude to a high rise building. Possibly under construction with Menards including figures of dad and his three sons and you could set them anywhere .................Paul
Thank you for the likes. What forum is the Menards stuff posted on
Thank YOU Ken M

Thanks Mike! I do have plans for a scene based on the new crane, also some tweaks to the area in the pic
Menards, would one add on section to increase height be a possibility?
