Hello: Greenberg shows a "Ground Spring", Part 2367-52, between the frame and the power truck (7th Ed, Pg.162). The spring gives my 2328 a definite tilt from front to rear. Since this section of Greenberg covers 6 different locomotives, I am wondering if it was not intended for the 2328. The spring does not show on the exploded view on Pg. 161.

Anyone have experience with this issue? Thanks.

Examining direct from the factory, never touched Lionel postwar gp-7/9 and or vertical motor F3's ... the ground spring is always between the motor truck and the frame. Original postwar ground springs are soft & very flexible. Reproductions are stiff. MPC changed the positioning of the ground spring at some point by placing it between the frame and the motor and slightly modifying its construction (changing the way it looks) at the same time.
