With Ford just announcing their 50th anniversary Mustang,I was wondering if anyone on the OGF has any Mustang models featured on their train layouts.

I do not, because my model car cut-off date is 1959. I did own a new 1967 Mustang fastback...navy blue with whitewalls (I was not into "muscle cars"). My father-in-law had new '65 and '69 models. I really liked the 2005 model, since it looked similar to '67-'69, but the new ones are not as appealing to me.
Cool. Nice collection and nice that Ford now has IRS standard. Mustangs have always been great cars although they are way out of the time period I model on my layout (which is supposed to be late 1955) So the only Mustang I have on my layout is a '67 dark green fastback - with Steve McQueen next to it.
Absolutely. I have about four of them sprinkled around the layout.
I have a bunch... from Matchbox collectables to chinese knockoffs. I believe my 1:43 models stop at a concept car in 2005.
Does anyone know if neo models made a mustang in 1:43?

Yeah, Neo made at least one: a Mustang II Ghia coupe. I've only seen it in one color, a rather hideous metallic line green, so I passed. Otherwise a good model. Mighty try e-bay: they always seem to have everything.

HEY! my 68 Mustang was lime green!
They brought back the color a while ago, I don't know whether it is still available.
There are a few recent lime green mustangs around here.
HEY! my 67 Mustang was lime green!
They brought the color back on the retro 2005+ model for a few years!

The cars on my layout are Hot Wheels, and there are quite a few Mustangs, along with an MTH Mustang auto hauler.
Those aren't the Mustangs I focus on though...these are:
Of course, before I was born and Grandpa got these, he had a 67, which was Lime Green!

Where did you get the diner sign atop the Lionel diner?
Did it come with it?

The roof top sign is from a diner tin box.The tin box can be found sometimes on Ebay under"Stella's tin diner".I am working on making a lighted version of the sign using Miller Engineering's EL experimenter's kits.I also plan on replacing the dull Lionel diner on my layout with the nice looking diner model that is actually a telephone. The diner can usually be found on Ebay under"diner phone".

Sorry I don't but I have dodge chargers on my layout and I drive one..
My layout is set in mid 1950's so none on the layout......
BUT two in the garage....1966 2+2 289 HiPo 4 sp and at the other end of the scale a 1968 coupe 200 6 cyl auto w/bench seat option.......I've owned others too.....miss my 1970 Sportsroof......
A 1975 June pic.....
I have had a few on my layout before...
My real ones:
None on the layout because my cut-off date is 1950. So the Moustang wasn't even a dream at that time, but I do have a bunch of 1930's and 1940's Fords in various parking lots, streets, driveways, lost in the woods, etc.
But now, in the garage is parked my toy: My 2008 Moustang GT with 5 spd, the first standard transmission I've owned in 40 years. Great diversion for an old guy like me!

Great topic! Yep, there are three on my layout--and that's me sitting on the bench next to them. All the scenery on my layout is handled by my eight-year-old daughter, and it was her idea!
The red one is a near identical match to my real life '65 coupe.
Mustangs? Nahhhhh

Not all of us could afford Vettes.
This is for you folks that think there was not a Mustang before 1950.
Well.....the White truck company had a Mustang model in their line for a number of years.....but I think the Ford Mustang was in question........but on my 1950's era layout I could add a P-51 Mustang I guess....
I bought a new 1970 Boss 302 and in my opinion the best Mustang ever made. And yes I have/had model mustangs on my layouts.
Yep, I have some on my layout. And I had three real ones in a row; all GT convertibles: a '90, and '94 and a '99. Then in 02 they had a bright red T Bird in the showroom that my wife made me buy and I'm still driving it today.
Overall I think I like the look of the new one, but kinda wished they kept the door post section where the upper quarter panel meets the door window...but this look is more true to the first gen.
On the layout I only have a '68 GT currently, but will add a white Ertl '64.5 to represent my 'bashed' '66 in the garage...200 Straight 6 with a 5spd and front disc brakes...the way ford should have made 'em in 1966
My 2003 zinc yellow, mach 1 with 25,600 miles is in the garage, waiting for spring mustang shows. LOCOMOTION
hrmmmmm
Joe I had a 67 fastback also. Mine was dark green. I ordered it with a four barrel carb but it came with a two barrel. Also there was a big drop of paint on the hood. The dealer talked me out of making them fix it. I was young. I seems like half the rental cars over here are convertible mustangs. Don
