On Friday and Saturday I had a blast visiting with old friends, attending clinics, and viewing a lot of nice modeling at the Spring S Spree in Dayton hosted by the Miami Valley S Gauge club. On view was high rail and scale action coupled with lots of classic Flyer and even a 40+ car modern train featuring a 3 unit lashup of the newer Flyer diesels. Great stuff!
However, I had more train excitement ahead when I returned home - this time it was happening on the prototype. The family had Mother's Day brunch on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR where we were treated to several hours of great food while watching glimpses of the Cuyahoga River and the National Park slowly go by. I can't believe that I found a way to combine Mother's Day with a train activity that the mothers really liked!
Yes, it was a great weekend for trains!
