Still my favorite engine of all time. Lionel’s classic 1958 issue of the 746 Norfolk & Western 4-8-4 J class Northern lies at rest like a long and sleek black panther in its lair.

Love the picture Mark! I always wanted a set of those cars and finally bought a set right before I started taking down the layout. I never even opened them up to look at, cause I knew I would have to just pack them back up! Lol

FOR TODAY: The new Supervisor's first day on the job ... Ernie Mackadoo, dressed in white shirt, tie, and hat, is yelling orders to his workers ... as if these veteran workers need to be ordered as to what to do. These guys, who roll their eyes in response to Ernie's barking orders, know their jobs like the back of their hands. Ernie is a young fella and is new to this Supervisor stuff. The guys just ignore Ernie's gruff comments and go about doing their jobs as only they know how to do ... and I must say they do it well!!

FOR TODAY: The Patsburg Fire Dept has been called to the scene of a tank car leaking a flammable substance. There's definitely a no smoking ban in effect which is to the dismay of Chief Bulldog Merson, who is always chomping on a cigar. Firefighter Brooks Benton is about to apply some foam on the leaking substance. A HAZMAT unit has been dispatched and is now enroute.

FOR TODDAY: Rufus Kingsley stuggles to hold this crate in place, as a Virginian Train Master idles in the background. All the guys are hard at work .... just another day on the railroad.
