Has anyone had experience adding figures to the interior of the Woodland Scenics finished buildings?  How difficult is it to get access to the interiors? Any secrets, tips or tricks to mention before I try it?  I'm not sure how they have those attached and am trying to avoid the "learning experiences"

Thanks.

Tom

Happy 2023 everyone!  I’m resurrecting this topic that was originally posted this past August and apparently received no response.  I have the same questions as those contained in the original post.  I have several Woodland Scenics buildings and I agree that they need occupants - or let me put this another way, my grandkids told me to add people to the buildings!  They were somewhat impressed with the kit I built several years ago and in which I added people and furniture in the interior - but mostly because I named it after their mother who is a very good baker.  Nonetheless, I have been “encouraged” to add figures in my other buildings - I am somewhat concerned about doing damage to the WS interiors and would like to hear if others had added figures and how they went about doing so?E5C8302E-DF12-46BE-AED5-E4687EB6B135

I’ve included a photo of Meg’s Corner Bakery, the building named after my daughter for your viewing.

Thank you, Bob

Thanks guys - I have older models of The Corner Emporium, J Frank’s and Sully’s tavern.  I say older because the electronics inside allow me to adjust the lighting intensity.  I have Dugan’s Paint store and Smith Bros Tv that do not give me those options and I suspect that they are intended to be controlled by the central Just Plug lighting hubs.  I am now thinking that unless you have the same, I’ll be trying to tackle this on my own.  If I do, I’ll share the lessons learned.

Ron, thanks for the comment.  I suspect that this model was used as the base for the corner buildings that MTH eventually built and sold.  If I recall correctly, it was a Design Preservation version which I don’t think is available any longer.

Bob, that is a great Bakery building, and love the personal touch of naming after your daughter.

I've added figures to all my Woodland Scenics buildings - like mentioned they're cardboard that is held in place with tape. Just remove the tape and fold down the cardboard or remove it altogether being careful of any LEDs that may be attached. I use superglue to hold the figures on, let dry, and then re-tape back in position. The challenging building was the corner emporium - for that structure I only removed the tape holding it to the base, and then folded it down, propped up the building at a 45 degree angle, and then glued the figures in. Arttista makes a great-looking barber, barbers chair, and sitting customer - goes really neat in the one section of that shop. BTW: the Menards versions of the buildings don't have the cardboard inserts for some reason, so I made my own interiors using foam core board as the base.
