AF mystery steam engine 3 rail | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Need some help identifying this AF 3 rail steamer for a friend. It has been in his possession for years and unfortunately it is missing the tender. It is 3 rail AF but there are no markings on the shell, some parts are missing and access to the brushes are on the side between the boiler and drive rails.

Anything you can tell us about this engine (year built, part of a set, current value, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the #4677 from the 1938 catalog, a Chicago holdover. Also cataloged in

in 1939 as a 422
