Anyone ever have the worm come loose on its shaft. This is the all nation tower drive with gears not chains. I noticed that one of the wheels was not turning and sliding on the rail. It turns out that the worm has some how came loose on its shaft and the shaft is spinning in the worm bore. I assume that the worm was a press fit on the shaft. I am thinking that I will Loctite the worm to the shaft but first I have to get the tower assembly apart. The tower is assembled by forming the extension of the shaft bearings into holes in the side plates and forming them over like riveting (anyone who has an all nation drive will know what I am referring to). Question now is how to disassemble the tower. I am thinking I will drill the extensions out until the side plates can be removed. After the worm is loctited to its shaft, I am thinking that I will solder the side plates back on.

I don't think you will find a set screw on this assembly.  You might try a very careful application of a drop of Loctite 609 Retaining Compound using the end of a toothpick at the point where the gear and shaft come in to contact with each other.  The Loctite should wick into the joint.  Let it set for a few hours and see if the gear still can turn on the shaft.

Thanks Joe,  I agree there is not a set screw as I would have been able to see it. I will try your idea using the wicking technique of the Loctite 609. Because the assembly is covered with oil that my interfere with the Loctite bonding. I will put it in an ultrasonic cleaner to try to get all the oil cleaned off. Once I apply the Loctite 609  with the tooth pick I will spin the shaft around in the worm bore to try to get the Loctite to work its way completely into worm bore and shaft.   These All Nation transmissions unfortunately are not make to be disassembled. 

The last runs were assembled without care, and you would probably be ahead by completely disassembling and starting over.  A cheaper way is to get older transmissions- they are almost bulletproof.  You can wear them out, but it takes a very, very long time, running 8 hours a day.

It has been over a decade since I pulled one apart, but I think I had to make a special tool.  The wheels had to come off too, I think, and re-assembly required a clamp, hammering, and solder.

Early assemblies had heavy duty knurls, and were unlikely to ever come loose.
