All this talk about MTH/Ives has me thinking about the 2007 Catalog | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

One of my all time favorite tinplate catalogs was the MTH 2007 Tinplate Catalog. I have several standard gauge items from that catalog and they are among my favorite tinplate trains. I have the 390E Blue Comet, Wabash 4696 and the Ives 3236R in Orange/Black and the one in Cadet Blue. That's the good news; the bad new are all the ones that got away;

I wanted that Black with Brass Trim ever since I first saw one. The only one I ever saw for sale was a traditional one that Side Track Hobbies had at York years ago. I wanted a Proto 2 version. I keep hoping to find one or see another one from MTH.

In spite of the fact of owning 2 3236R sets I still want more. I want one of these in every color. The green was not produced and was replaced with the Cadet Blue color. You can see the Black/Orange and Cadet Blue in my video I posted last week.

If they reran that catalog with P3 I’d certainly have to order a few items.
