I definitely don't have the room.  But I have two floor layouts, one 3-rail scale, the other tinplate.

I live in Pennsylvania, so there's nothing odd about that.

 doesn't want to model a real railroad but comes up with something like Dellafave Southern or Allegheny Federation 

I don't model "a" real railroad, but I do like most of the fallen northeastern roads.  For now, that means RDG, PRR and NYC.  I know some folks like fantasy railroads, but that's not for me.

 

It is always Christmas on the upper level of my layout.

Scrambler81, nicely done.  It evokes what I like so much about the holiday season.

Oh yeah, Cody, I once left a 20" x 24" hole in my layout for almost 2 years, because I couldn't decide exactly what I wanted to do with it. It ain't just you.
