Hello, I am doing a Can conversion on a AF 312AC.  The motor is a S-n-S which has "TOP", written on one side.

The instructions say this does make a difference so I installed it that way.  But the instructions do not say WHY.  The shaft on the can is centered so what makes the difference which side of the motor is facing up.

Just curious

It may be to help you get the wiring correct, direction wise, these are dc motors and if using dc power on the track you want all the motors on your trains with the same polarity.
