Any Hobby Shops in Madison or Milwaukee worth visiting?

i have to agree with Hot Water on both counts!  Sommerfeld's is a great train store and I wouldn't wear the cubs shirt

I would also go to Greenfield News and Hobby on Layton Ave--incredible store for everything hobby.  Then head over to American Science & Surplus on Oklahoma Ave, where they have plenty of electrical stuff and sometimes plaster wrap at cheap prices.   Of course, the mother of all things trains is Walthers on Florist Ave.  They have a nice HO layout and sometimes O gauge stuff on clearance.  Great bunch of people and some historic items in a display case showing how far the hobby has come.  Lastly, Hiawatha Hobbies--wow, MTH buildings galore and plenty of 3-rail stuff.  Enjoy Beertown train watching too around Sommerfeld's in Butler.

You guys are pretty funny, I've traveled for years and always bring a little of my home with me, Bears, Cubs, Hawks.

Even if you don't go anywhere else, plan to spend time at Sommerfeld's, and tell Jack that I said "hello."  A great train store for the O gauger operated by an equally great store owner.

Such pretty girls to suffer that. Isn't there a fine team south of there with clean working ladies rooms, an electric scoreboard, a parking lot and you don't have to sit on someone's roof to watch the game? They must have shirts...

As for Madison...can't recall a single really good train store there (dating back to when I lived in Dubuque, Iowa, just down the road).  I used to drive from Dubuque to Milwaukee (Butler) on many Saturdays just to spend some time at Sommerfelds.  And, of course, I was a "regular" there when I live in nearby Pewaukee.

I can fully understand that about bringing a little bit of home with you, but THE CUBS?????

Another vote for Sommerfelds.  Jack & Matt are good guys.  Among many other things they have a good selection of Arttista figures - usually hard to find.

From one ex-Chicagoan to a fellow-Chicagoan, wear your Cubs, Bears, Hawks, and Bulls (if you have any) gear with pride.  Notice I didn't mention the Southsiders.  Can't stand them.  There is a reason why their ballpark is cleaner, no one attends the games!!!

BTW, I agree with everyone else.  Sommerfeld's is the place to visit.
