I've watched a bunch of videos on Youtube of the LC+ Hudsons but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.  Maybe someone could point me in the right direction, or be really awesome and take a video for me?

I'm looking for a fairly wide shot that will let me see a length of track several times the length of the engine, and then for video of the engine passing through the shot at each of the speed settings on the remote.  I want to see how it compares to the speeds on the LC+ Diesels I have, as I've heard the steamers don't move quite as slow, or don't have as good of low speed control.  I'm looking at purchasing one of these... And probably will no matter what at some point, but I'd like to see if the LC+ version is the next purchase, or if it will be another used TMCC Hudson.

JohnsTrains, I also have the NW2.  would you say the speeds at each 'click' of the knob on the remotes are about the same on the Hudson as the NW2?  I timed the NW2 for scale speed, but I can't remember now if the first 5 speeds were 1-5 MPH, or 2,4,6,8, and 10 MPH.  in any case, those first five steps are very close in speed, then the rest of the steps are much larger.  Is this the same on the Hudson?

Hi John: This is from my You Tube Channel. The engine has a metal tender and has a lot of weight to stay on the tracks. As a YT viewer, I think there is a way to slow down the video. Look for the gear by the video. "Maybe" /  It has two chuffs not four like a scale locomotive, is that what you are looking for?

Well, as I mentioned actually have a LC+ Pacific steamer not one of the Hudsons. Hard to comment on the speed at the moment w/o the trains in front of me. I'll say that they (LC+ steamers and diesels) are quite comparable in their low speed capability.

Thank's Gary.  I've actually watched your review several times, as well as a bunch of other videos out there.

I Guess I didn't really title this thread very well so I'm going to fix that.  What I'm looking for is just a video showing how fast the engine moves at each one of it's speed steps.

EDIT: (john replied at the same time I did)

JohnsTrains, I imagen the pacific and hudson are pretty much the same.  Thank you.

I just recall seeing some posts in other threads that the LC+ steamers were not as good at low speeds as the diesels,  Seems that is not the case.  Maybe I'll do a side by side comparison when I but the Hudson and post the results here.

Hi John - Find Pacific Steamer on You Tube, then slow down the video. See steps below.

I decided to go ahead and pick up the LC+ version and am going to stop by the LHS tomorrow.  They have the CN version at about $350 out the door.  Before I pull the trigger, though, I figured I'd see if anyone has a NYC version they want to unload for about the same price? I see the same CN one from forum sponsors for as low as $300.00 shipped, but tend to like my local shop these days, and don't mind spending the extra $50 for the ability to take it home now.  But, if I can find the NYC version I can wait on that.
