Atlas O switches

Hello;

New to the forum and hobby. I'm in the process of building my layout. I purchased several new Atlas Custom Supreme switches and noticed that some were not working by way of the manual throw. Upon closer examination and removal of the cover on the switch machine I saw that the Throwbar Link just sits the hole on the Throwbar and is easily dislodged. All of the switches I have have this same design. Is this something I can fix easily? Thanks for your feedback. Sorry if my nomenclature is not correct.

I'd like to know as well; I always just take 'em apart and gently put everything back in place. Once installed, I've never had an issue; must just be the rough handling during shipment etc.

I had 52 Atlas Switches on my last Layout for 12 years w/only 1 Switch Machine burn out in all of that time! I operated all of them with Lionel ASC 2’s via my CAB2. Nothing but good to say about Atlas Switches. In addition I have since moved & am using those same Switches on my new Layout !!

HDJOE88, The piece the spring attaches to snaps into the throwbar. Snap everything back in place like the instructions show, throw switch before u put cover on. If all good, snap cover on. I have about 8, or 9 Atlas switches, Have not had many problems with them over the years.

HDJOE88,

I use a small flat head screwdriver to press the link into the hole on the throwbar. You should be able to feel/hear a click when the 2 pieces snap together. They should stay together after you do this once.
