I'm currently using the wall-wart that came with a Polar Express set. Is there anyway to make a GW-180 or CW-80 automatically reset from a short like the wall-wart?

Does the accessory side auto-reset?

This is a layout I built for the grandkids. They are old enough to fully operate the trains (Polar Express and an LC+ switcher) but they frequently will create a short putting cars on the track or re-railing cars. The PEX power pack has enough power to run both trains and power the switches' anti-derail function. It also will allow the switcher to run at full throttle without flying off the track. The best part is that it is always ready to go. The boys are conditioned to know when all the lights go out, something is wrong and they fix it. The lights come on and they're ready to go.

They're missing out on the electro-couplers on the freight cars, iPad control of the switches, and the electro-magnetic decouplers. They'll grow into this faster than I expect. Otherwise, I'd sell the GW-180/Cab2/Legacy system.

I used these 5A thermal breakers for a number of projects and they seem to work well. Not as fast as other magnetic breakers (Airpax- example) but self resetting and simple enough. A forum sponsor sells them https://hennings-trains.shopli...circuit-breaker.html

Again, right now, with a CW80 or GW180, the track side output short detection requires the user to lower the throttle handle to 0 and then raise it again to enable output. The accessory side output requires removing wall AC power to the transformer (CW80 has no power switch) or turning on and off the GW180 brick.

Just a reminder that the PSX-AC doesn't work in variable output situations.  That is, it will not provide any output current if less than 10 VAC is applied to its input.  It should work with a GW-180 as long as one splices it in between the PH-180 brick and the Throttle unit.  But not between Throttle unit and track unless the throttle is always left up quite far, which defeats the purpose of having a throttle in the first place.

Unfortunately with the CW-80 all being in one box there appears to be no similar solution for it.
