when I started getting involved in O Gauge, early last year I bought various batches of track, and sorted through for the best. This has left me with a small stock of Fastrack (which I keep for running on the carpet, because it’s new and clean), a fair stock of O27 and a mixed batch of O31.

Further sorting has resulted in a mixed batch of O31 and a definite lack of switches, but I’ve found that O27 switches are easy to find in good condition. I’ve also acquired a small number (3, so far) of O27 switches with O42 exits, and a circle of O27 track in O42 size.

I prefer the look of the smaller O27 track so I’m now progressing towards firming up my O27 “door layout” and constructing a larger running track of O42 with a reversing loop, probably in 9’x5’ on a ping pong table (because it’s handier than an 8’x4’ to handle) so I can run my larger stock occasionally between club nights.

I’d be interested in having a bit more, large radius O27, though. This doesn’t seem plentiful so I’m interested to hear of any sources?

Pretty sure that Lionel announced it would stop manufacturing all tubular track, so the supply out there is what's in peoples' collections and on dealer shelves. K-Line made it, but they're gone.

I'm in the process of building a new layout. Like you, I like O27 tubular, so I gobbled up a good amount of 42", 54" and 72" curves in O27 profiles as well as enough 42" wide turnouts to have a few extras.  My LHS always seemed to have stock of O27 track, but they closed recently. As part of their going-out-of-business sale, I picked up a case of O27 long straights as insurance.

My advice is that if you're going to stick with O27 track, buy it when you can find it, especially the wider curves. I think the 27" curves themselves will always be plentiful.

Agree with all above, a lot of hobby shops still have stocks online, Marx also made a bunch of wider curves and switches in the lower profile. K-line also had some. I' picked up the O-27 super K curves which are O-42. I really like the way they look, and they made O-42 low profile switches to go with them.

Word of advice on the Marx O-34 switches. I have found that you need to add a guardrail on both legs to have most engines go through them correctly. Take a look at some of the old threads from ACE and you can see how to modify them.
