Best inexpensive track cleaning car?

make it.  mount a Mr clean pad under a junk car that you can add a little weight to.  there's a thread out here on how to make one using springs, ect.  i just cut the pad a little thicker and "squish" with weights.  when pad gets bad, rip it off and glue a new one on.

here's a thread of a guy doing basically what i did.  sinkers, wheel weights work for weight.

Would you consider adding a magnet to pull the iron shavings

There are dozens of track cleaning car threads out there.  However, the best and cheapest is the one you make yourself.  I have sent my instructions, photos, and a drawing of my design to 195 Forum members.

I'm one of Dennis' followers myself, I made 2, I run one with a damp scotchbrite and one with dry paper towel.

Then the towel comes back clean you are done. If it's dirty, refold the towel and go again.

Still need to add the magnet and make a vacuum car like Lee made.

I have the car vac, just need to do the work.

Total cost so far? About a dollar plus scotchbrite pads.
