I have an opening at the end of my 6x9 tabletop layout that allows access/viewing inside my tunnel so I decided it was the perfect spot for a former moonshine operation gone-legit.

I used a cheap K-line ATSF freight car and an "extra" Menards Moe's Cycle Shop. The freight car came from the bay and was cheap because it was missing a truck. I bought the Menards building just to get the three custom HD baggers, but had no spot for it on my layout. To get started, I lopped off the second floor and added custom signs and interior graphics. The building floor/deck is 1/4 hardboard scribed and weathered to look like wood. The loading dock is coffee stir sticks. The freight car/storage shed got a coffee stir stick wooden floor. The moonshine still was a 3D printed piece sold on Etsy and I replaced the tubes with real copper.

The train car is the original storage shed from when this was a hidden moon-shine operation. Now that they have gone legit they have a building, tasting room, and loading dock. Since the operation is in a cave they are still using their outdoor coal-fired still and conveniently, the train can stop to off-load grain and coal and pick up barrels of the finished product.

Future improvements planned are to dull down the LEDs on the building, weather the freight car, weather the still, put an LED fire in the still, and add some additional lighting and coal storage to the yard at the right of the building.
