I would like to thank MTH for their upgrade kits. They helped make this engine better. The engine struggled before and now is very smooth.:

The kits come with some extras that make the job much easier. Allmost everything is well marked and explained.
The black wire on the harness with the lug was not identified in the instructions. It goes to the tenders frame as a ground. Also, I didn't see anywhere to connect the interior or marker lights in the engine? The tether seemed full so maybe there's no place to have the extra wires needed? They were on a cv board with the smoke's control that I removed. Still, I'm very pleased with the performance now.
