Hello kj356 and guys.............

I would like to try the supersnap track as I see that western depot has the 0-120 curves for 5.75 for each section and I just checked ready made toys (RMT) and they do have the 40 inch straights(thank you for the link) but I am on fixed income and will be while before I can afford them.  I think this would be a best choice for carpet running.  mixerman I have a smaller engine (Williams NW-2) and MTH does not make a railking 2-10-4 Texan but a premier version (scale size) #20-3056-1 and the boiler is wrong for that type of engine (its very noticeable).  It took us 4 months and giving up a lot to pay for the Sunset 3rd engine and would very much like to run it more often. The 0-72's just doesn't cut it for that size of the engine. I have 16 pieces of 0-72 and 5 pieces of 30 inch straights realtrax in very nice condition ,copper tabs are all good not bend or damage.  Perhaps a trade for the supernaps track ?

You can use almost any straight track even the Realtrax or old 0-27 Lionel straights.

Just use some cardboard or track underlay or go to your local carpet store and ask for some little bits left over the underlay or short pile carpet lay this under the shorter height straights. The Supersnap accepts track pins and most track systems can be connected in. Even if it does not match up curve to straight (different track types) then level both to match in height and secure a section of both to a piece of thin wood or plastic. Just make sure there are jumper wires between each type of track.

You might post your track for sale on the forum sales section.
