You don't know how excited I am to start this thread! We are only 3 weeks away!

This breakfast has been a biannual event for the last 10 years that grew out of a group of Forum members gathering for breakfast before the show.

WHERE:  The Round-the-Clock-Diner, 222 Arsenal Rd, 717-848-5344. It is on the north side of Route 30 just east of its intersection with I-83.

WHEN:  Thursday, April 18th. We start arriving about 7-7:15 and stay until about 0900+.

WHY THIS EARLY: the easy answer......... most of us are so excited that we can't sleep!

This is an event open to all York goers and their families. Traveling alone? First York? Small group from far away? This is a great place and time to meet your fellow York attendees.

Put a face with a name on the Forum. 1st timers, this is a great place to meet people and get the lowdown on the show. A great time is had by all.

After the breakfast, there is plenty of time to get your registration if you need it. Then, many of us congregate in the Orange Hall lobby as we wait for the show to begin at noon.

Here are some pictures from last October........

Just give me an idea if you are coming......this way, I have the Round-the-Clock Diner keep our area separate. Last minute decisions are welcome. We usually have anywhere from 24 to 40 attendees.

Peter, this is such a wonderful tradition. Once again I thank you for it. However, I will miss all y'all (that's Southern speak for all of you) because I will still be in Florida. But I wish you all a GREAT York. Enjoy it, have fun and may you find your treasures.

If I don't see you sooner, I look forward to seeing you in October at York.

Gerry

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your gracious invitation to this great bi-annual event which epitomizes the good times and camaraderie that model railroading has to offer. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. You are O Gauge’s Chief Specialist of Railway Giraffe Veterinary Medicine and Division Superintendent of Giraffe Rolling Stock, so I know you will understand. This is the year that I hope to buy my first giraffe car at York. The morning before York opens, I will be in my car parked behind Orange Hall where the vendors are unloading their goods. I will have my binoculars and my telephoto lens camera, snapping pictures of anything being brough in that looks like it might be a giraffe car. With this reconnaissance in hand, I will have the edge in knowing what vendors might have giraffe cars for sale. As soon as the doors open to the public I will pounce on a giraffe. I appreciate your efforts to slow me down by plying me with pancakes, bacon, and fine company beforehand, but I am on a mission!

Cheers

So… I will be missing the Thursday am breakfast but intend on dining at Manchester Diner on Friday at 0800 am hours.

See everyone on Friday/Saturday.

Did someone say giraffe cars?

I've always wanted to attend this breakfast gathering, and while I have breakfast at RTC every day while in the area, I always have to eat and run to get to my hall for setup on Thursday.  If only they let us set up our tables, or at least unload our trailer Wednesday night... **sigh**

In any case, have fun, and maybe I'll see some in passing at RTC and, if not there, then in the halls at York!

Traffic Hint for those coming to breakfast and coming up I-83 from the south, getting off at Route 30 east……

The Round-the-Clock Diner is on the other side of the street. DO NOT TRY to cross all the traffic lanes to make a left……..stay right and make a right and turn in the Sheetz (a good place for gas). Then, your path to the RTC is much easier.
