Blown TIU Channel

All REV. L TIUs have a USB port. Anything before the REV. L does not have a USB port.

Variable or fixed channels?  Are you losing voltage or just the DCS signal?  Check the bottom of them and ID actually what rev you have.

I assume that you mean the level of DCS, not a hardware upgrade of some sort.

Whelp, they are all working now. 

The problem was fixed 2.  I took the fuses out and reinstalled, that's all I did.  I don't see any loose wires, the posts are all solid and good   Idk. It's all working now. 

Somehow I have accumulated tius.  3 are rev L (one is on my layout, 2 are backups  maybe I will do all super tui and separate out some of my storage tracks and put on separate channels), one is I3a. 

Can I update the I3a to the current software?  

If so, I will need a 9pin rs232 cable and an adapter to USB.  Or at cable with USB on one side and rs232 on the other.  

I am actually enjoying this! 😂  Also changed up a sound file on my prr j1a texas to a sound file from an atsf northern.  Cool that you can still do this on a locomotive from 14 or so years ago.  Fun stuff!

Thinking this over, and that's not all I did, as I said I did the software update.  Is it possible the software update resolved the problem?

Yes, you can.

You will also need an 1/8" to 1/8" stereo jumper cable.

Barry ,thank you . I have the jumper  I have updated the software one 3 rev Ls.  Funny too that in searching through my many boxes-o-junk i found a USB to 9pin  so I am good to go.  Glad I didn't buy it again!
