Not railroad related, but i scored this off ebay for less than 20 bucks with shipping.

It's from the county I was born in, for the timeframe I was born (at the end of November, 1969).

On my way home from the hospital as an infant, I could have been driven past the very car that had this plate for all I know.

And yes, I know this makes some of you feel old...

Remember the movie, "Aliens"?
I found a great die-cast version of the APC from that movie at a local comic book store today and couldn't resist. Turns out, it looks almost perfect for O scale. I just took these photos for fun, it's not on the layout now.20160529_174848-1_resized

It's all right, we're clear! Ripley, you've blown the transaxle, you're just grinding metal! C'mon, ease down! Ease down! Ease down!

I call this  "attic fresh" it looks like the motors have not been touched, still had the original tape to hold the wiring down. Cosmetically the body is rough but thats ok with me I'm the same age. Of course the old Eveready is toast but the e-unit sequences just fine and it runs smooth for being 62 years old. I'm kinda reluctant to clean it up and loose its history.
