Well, yes, as a matter of a fact -- the following Berkshire brew was quite cool when I bought it.  Still is.  This evening I plan on preparing Welsh Rarebit from a Chesapeake & Ohio dining car recipe found in James Porterfield's excellent "combine" -- a history and cookbook, Dining by Rail.  I saw this local brewery's Steel Rail ale a while back and passed it by. (The "cho" on the label shouldn't influence a purchase, right? Besides, I prefer dark British ales.)

However, after visiting three stores looking for an ale that didn't require purchasing a six-pack for a mere half cup cooking requirement, all of a sudden this offering with its rail-themed label seemed perfect.  Notice how even the book and label colors match?  Perhaps this pairing was meant to be? But can an American Extra Pale Ale stand up to a bubbling vat of cheddar cheese and Wocestershire sauce?  I'm looking forward to finding out.  (If not, there's a little left over if rather flat Flemish Sour Ale to mix in.  Here at the TRRR -- where "our only taste is in our mouth" -- we always have a backup plan! :-)

I just received this MTH Climax Engine and 4 K-Line spine cars. I love the engine and cars. I need to replace those shiny logs with real logs though. Test ran it on my test track. I think it's pretty cool. I always loved geared locomotives. It also came with an old Atlas (pre Atlas O) UP bobber caboose which I'll put away for a future bashing project.

Great purchase Pat.  Before you change out the logs, try weathering them a bit by spraying with a  clear matte to get rid of the shinny appearance.  Then add a mixture of Woodland Scenics blended turf/burnt grass on the high spots, as well as WS fine soil randomly on the logs to give the logs the appearance of being dragged to the rail head in the woods.  In any case Enjoy!

Cool stuff, Corey Like the 1/1 scale house. Now you need to weather it

This came today Legacy GN GP 9s and the MTH FA2s were combined from an earlier purchase of NH FA2 ABA with smashed shells and just arrived GN FA2 Shells. Ok cool for me.

I know it's not exactly train-related, but I got tons of Swag from NASA and the TN Valley RR on my trip to the Southeast last month. I got to ride behind SRR 4501 on the Summerville trip (in the obs car, no less), bought a lot of stuff from their gift shop (including a great DVD of the same trip with the same rolling stock).

Then, I spent a week in Huntsville working with astronauts. I got a bunch of NASA wear and gear from Redstone...

My biggest purchases have  directly affected my train buys. I bought a new fuel pump, distributor, fuel pressure regulator valve,  heater core  and 4 WD encoder motor all for the price of a Big Boy.  Have to keep the wheels rolling and now I can go to the TCA show Sunday  !!!   Sold an old  repro flintlock musket for  $$  so I can buy some RR stuff. It is all  relative.
