I just started putting up the brackets for my ceiling shelf layout.  I was going to use O-72 curves, but decided to go with O-54 instead.  It makes for a better looking corner, and I am better to maintain a narrower shelf around the room.

The reason for this post is to offer a suggestion on bracket mounting.  I started out by attempting to measure down from the ceiling an equal distance, then measure over sixteen inches, make a mark, drill the hole, mount the bracket, and hope it came out okay.  After two not-okay brackets, I got out my good old 24" Stanley metal level, and marked off 16" centers along the bottom edge of the level.  Now I set the level on the installed bracket, get the level right, move the bracket under the level at the 16" mark, mark the holes, drill and install the new bracket.  Works perfectly, with no do-overs, and no extra holes to fill and repaint.

I hope someone can use this tip.   Bob S.

Steve:  I'm considering a couple of different steamers.  First is a Great Southern Mikado pulling a nice consist of Southern Crescent passengers.  The second is the anniversary gold Polar Express and four matching passengers.  Then, there is also a big Blue Comet Berkshire looming in the background.  Then, the tinplate stuff and the Texas Special.  Decisions, decisions.  What's a fella to do?
