This past Saturday, Sidewinder and I had Lunch with Art and Stan at Bull Moose in Sandwich, IL.  This restaurant has been created from an old rail dining car (see the photo below).  The car carried President Roosevelt on his campaign trail in early 1900’s.  We all enjoyed good burgers and talking about trains!  In the afternoon, Art and Stan took us to their homes to see their layouts.  Both of them have spectacular Layouts!   You can view the videos below to see both of their layouts from our tour!  Thank you to both Art and Stan for allowing us to visit their layouts.  Also thank you to Art’s wife and her hospitality in making us some delicious homemade cookies to eat!  Ken

Wow, two great-looking layouts!  Stan, everything looks great but even if you had nothing else, your city streets scenes are so much fun to watch!  Art, you've got so much going on there, I don't know how you're every going to finish that thing!  Looks like there's so much to work on!

All that and homemade cookies too?  Thanks for posting.

This was a great weekend! It was really inspiring to see these layouts. Individually, they each have an emphasis on Chicago yet tell a unique story. For someone who spent their entire life in the Chicagoland area, the layout visits brought back many fond memories.

I sincerely appreciate these gentlemen and their wives opening their homes and making us feel very welcomed.

Any Forum who is planning to visit the Chicago area should put a visit to Art & Stan's layout on the must list of things to do. They are both beautiful modelers and both have layouts that are a must see. You will receive a reception like you are their long lost brothers.
