Could someone help me understand this situation:

Suppose I want to to run a Lion Chief (not LC+) engine on a Fasttrack setup using a CW-80 transformer.  I understand I'd need to be at 18V in order for the engine to respond to its remote controller.  Ok.  Now what if this track layout also has accessory plug and play track sections. Will attached accessories also be subjected to 18V, or are they supposed to be powered by a separate source other than my CW-80.  Thanks in advance.

Either way.   Lots of video by Mike Reagan on youtube about this.     If you want your accessories to be ran at a lower voltage.   You can either set it with your CW-80 on accessory output or run your train at 18v and accessories at that voltage.    Other than that just get a CW-40 and run your accessories off of that and not plugged into the track.   Can even use the common ground and ground your lights and such on the tracks buss wires ground.   But you must phase your transformers also.     Video on all of that via Lionel on youtube.
